「旅遊是生活的一部份」。因此，在旅遊途中的陌生環境中，也更應該特別注意如何來維護自身的健康以及保持愉悦的精神。對於某些原有罹患慢性疾病的旅遊者而言，更應該在成行前的兩個星期內，讓你的家庭醫師跟你做一番健康規劃，如此才更能掌握旅遊行程間的突發急症。有鑑於此，民眾更瞭解「旅遊醫學特別門診」的醫療服務存在的意義了。
結語
由於「急性高山症」有可能衍生致死的「急性肺水腫」及「急性腦水腫」合併症，兩者都必須儘早作相對應的治療，否則便會有生命的危險；因此旅遊前對高山症的認知及防範準備工作是十分重要的；而一旦出現急性高山症早期徵兆時，一定要及時適當的處置，甚至最重要的是能立即將登山旅遊者分階快速的搬運到三千公尺以下的地區先安頓下來，如此才能挽救瀕臨死亡的生命
